Remembering!

Our first profession picture done at a week old. Of course all they did then was sleep! I havent slept good in 3 years, but whos counting.

Our first halloween with big brother the skeleton and onesies for us. After all we were only almost 5 months old. No candy this year.

It only took us a few sleepless nights to figure out they had to sleep close to each other. After all for the last 9 months they were touching each other. We separated them in the crib but then finally figured it out. This is the way they liked to sleep and it never failed KJ always end up holding or touching Emily. They started out during nap time with keeping their hands to theirselves. He so needed her then. Now we can see that they need each other. MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PICTURE OF ALL TIME!!!

Our first easter egg hunt. What we were supposed to put eggs in the basket and not sit on them...OHHHHHH!!

Coming home from the hospital.......3 days old. Watch out everybody!!

I went to Babies R Us to start shopping for Chrissy's twins and I started think back to when the babies were little. Time flies by so fast and Im glad I was able to find some of my favorite pictures from my moms computer since I lost all of mine when my hard drive failed.

I can remember these times but it seems so long ago and everyday is a new day with these two, with the things they say and do as they are learning different things each day!!

Santa Monica pier

Sunset at the Santa Monica pier. A nice ending to a fun time!

My fearless Emily wanted to go on the ferris wheel and everytime it went around she put up her arms like she was on a rollercoaster and yelled out "yeah".

I tried to take good pictures but I was way too scared to take more. Mimi was not afraid one bit.

They both did like this kiddie ride.

KJ didnt want to go near the water.

Emily didnt care how cold the water was she was happy. She wanted to put on a swimsuit.

I wish the beach water wasnt so dirty. I hate getting all that sand all over me. Oh Well. Ill stick to the swimming pool.

Off to see the....Sissy

Baby Kane! Chrissy and Vince are in the background.

Kim and baby Caleb!

Emily and Star taking a break! They played so well together.

During spring break I drove to the Murrietta area to see my friend, Chrissy. she is expecting boy/girl twins.......YEAH! I am so excited for here. I can say that because I have been there done that. We got to see our friend Kim and Caleb (he is too cute) and Chrissy's sister Jamie and her kids, Star and Kane. The kids played and we visited. It was nice to see my old friends. I dont get to see them very often.

Easter 2009

Waiting for the egg hunt to start was oh so hard!
Checking their baskets after the hunt. They actually went into the field while we waiting for the bunny and they were really eating the candy.

Two kids out of three isnt bad I guess.

We went home and colored eggs. This is their first time doing this.

Outside our house in the front for a more personal egg hunt.

Easter started this year with an easter egg hunt at the local city park, just like last year. Nothing different. They put eggs, candy and small toys on a soccer field and by age group they just pick them up. We did wait in line for the easter bunny this year and of course, my scardy cat, KJ said he wanted to sit with him but no. Emily did sit with the bunny and then wanted to give him a hug. It was cute. We had another hunt the on Sunday morn in our grassy area and had dinner with family and friends. Then spring break was officially over and back to work on Monday..............YEAH! (not) The year is so close to being over I can taste it.

My after school helpers

Mimi is in the pink dress close to the boy in blue running. It was so funny. She just sat down.
They both are already a pro at using the computer.

Mimi, more so than KJ, loves to write and color. She is such a girl.

KJ has my keys around his neck and the broom and porter in his hand.

Now that the babies are close to my work I usually go pick them up and more times than not take them to my classroom. They find things to do and usually make more of a mess. As you can see in the picture KJ is going to be a school custodian when he grows up and Mimi, well she is so ready for school. The after school program was outside playing duck duck goose and she went and sat in the circle and looked like she belonged with the group. School for them will come soon enough.

Rest in Peace again!!!

A week after my grandma passed in El Paso, and the day that my parents came back, my dad got a call that night that my grandfather passed away. My dads dad. I lost 2 grandparents in the same week. My grandpa lived a good life surround by his kids, grandkids, and even some great grandkids. We went to his service and it was nice. The last time I saw him was at Christmas, I didnt get a chance to visit him in the convalescent home. He was 82. My grandma has come around, she is 87, and doing well.

Grandpa, we love you and miss you! We are lucky to have had you in our lives.

Rest in Peace!!!

This month has been one of happiness and sadness. I flew to EL PASO the first weekend of this month to see my grandma. I was to leave the weekend after that but a call from my mom said if I am going to go I should find a flight out tonight. So I left work early and caught a flight a few hours later. I got into El Paso with my parents on Friday night at 11pm. The hospital just brought my grandma home, pretty much to live out her days. Her lungs didnt function to full capacity and her heart was only working 10-30%, so it was a matter of time.

I walked in and she was lucid and said to me "I didnt expect to see you!" I was happy at that. My cousins and aunt and uncle were already there and we were waiting for my other aunt and uncle to arrive the next day. Then most of the cousins but all the brothers and sisters would all be there for their mom and dad. I slept in this loveseat next to my grandmas bed all night with my cousin Heather in the recliner. She did most of the work all night I was just there. I didnt sleep. My grandma got up at 4am and I made her an egg. That would be the last thing she really ate. She was lucid most of the day but once they changed her meds so she had morphine every 2 hours she slept and really never opened her eyes.

I had to leave on Sunday while everyone else stayed and we all took pictures with her. I got a call later that night (about 1am) that she passed away. And with everyone elses thoughts, she didnt have to suffer anymore. I missed the funeral service. It makes me want to ake sure I see my family and friends more often. She has never met the babies. My grandfather is making a point to come out this summer.

During the week, my family made a rock for each member of the family to leave in my grandmas garden. Very cute idea!!!

Grandma, I love you and I am glad that I did come out to see you. Rest in Peace!!

Twins twins and more twins

Well I have to say congrats to my best friend Chrissy. She is expecting twins and found out today she is having boy girl twins. I am so excited for her.

She was with me in the delivery room when Christian was born 10 years ago and she came out as tired as can be on the c-section day when my twins were born. She has been there and I can only hope to be there when her big day comes. She has seen everyone of us have our kids and has many nieces and nephews and Im happy that her day has come. She has to be an expert at that but twins is a whole new world. It can really be only understood by those who have them. Some people think it may be easy but everything is doubled but at the same time its more than that and I really cant explain it. It is different than having 2 kids of different ages.

I am so happy for Chrissy and Vince and I cant wait to see her on Thursday, with her growing belly and all.
Now, I cant tell who she is holding in these picture, I cant see that face and honestly they both looked the same wrapped in the hospital blankets. The only way I could tell is that Mimi had a scratch above her eye when she was born.

Vasquez Rocks

Spring Break trip #1

We went to Vasquez Rocks today, only about 10 minutes from our house. I got them good and tired just walking around on the path and up and down the rock formations. Many movies and TV shows have been shot here and it is a cheap place to go. We may go again soon. We found some big rocks that looked like turtles and frogs. KJ thought he built the rocks, last time, is what he said and mimi thought they looked and smelled like ice cream. OK whatever. Here are some pictures from our trip today.

We have visited every park in the city and the cities close to us!

In my attempt to catch up on life over the past few months, todays topic is.........weekend fun! So we usually end up going somewhere, usually a park, on the weekends because they need to get out to play and I need some peace. Since they dont know the actually name of the park we have our own language, such as the park with the tennis balls, the one with the blue swing, the big hill park. They have learned to climb on everything and mimi is a performer. Usually after a climb or something she ends with ta-da.

SNOW DAY IN CA!!!

Alright this is pretty pathetic but I have so much to catch up here and in my spring break attempt I am going to CATCH UP with all that has been missed but recorded in pics from my last post of 4 months ago.......Be prepared to be bombarded this week with new stuff.

Although I cant remember when this was only that is was sometime within the last 4 months when we had that huge snowstorm and it actually snowed by my house and the freeway was closed. I picked up the babies and Chris and decided to see how far we could drive to get to the snow. We drove up the 14 freeway for about 15 minutes, found a street to turn off and stopped in front of a church on an isolated road with many other onlookers who were suprised like us that the snow was at least 2 feet deep.

Now we were not prepared for the snow, wrong shoes, no gloves or hats, but at least we had a jacket. We got out of the car just to see and KJ was a little confused when his foot sank into the snow. After the intial shock they walked and ran in the snow, made a snowball and had a few minutes of fun. That weekend we went up to Palmdale to a local park where there was just enough snow left make a snowman, snowballs with a snowball fight......a once in a lifetime experience. It doesnt snow in So Cal, other that in the mountains.
